Our Main Goal
The main objective of PREFERAL is to promote equality and social inclusion by increasing access to sport and outdoor leisure activities for people with fewer opportunities.
To achieve this objective, the project develops practical tools, educational resources, and innovative training opportunities that support sports professionals, educators, youth workers, volunteers, and community organisations in creating inclusive sporting environments.
More specifically, PREFERAL aims to:
- Increase awareness of the importance of inclusive sport and its positive impact on individuals and communities.
- Empower people with fewer opportunities by encouraging active participation in physical and outdoor activities that improve confidence, wellbeing, and quality of life.
- Equip coaches, trainers, and educators with modern methodologies that enable them to adapt sporting activities to diverse participant needs.
- Develop innovative digital educational materials and online learning opportunities that remain accessible beyond the lifetime of the project.
- Foster international cooperation between organisations working in sport, education, and social inclusion, encouraging the exchange of knowledge, experiences, and best practices.
- Promote the Erasmus+ values of equality, diversity, inclusion, active citizenship, and lifelong learning.
Ultimately, PREFERAL seeks to create lasting impact by helping organisations become more inclusive and by ensuring that more people can experience the physical, social, and emotional benefits that sport and outdoor activities provide.
